REPORT ON BOOK FAIR



Staff Reporter: The month long “Ekushe Boi Mela” ended yesterday with huge gathering. According to book fair information centre, record numbers of books were sold this year. Honorable Prime Minister inaugurated the fair in the opening day. People of all ages from different areas come and gather here to buy books. All shorts of book were available but the stalls of novels, poetry and translation received much crowd. A total of 1500 new books were published this year. Last Friday was reserved for the children. They collected books and autographs of their favorite writers. Government official as well as many prominent writers visited the fair. Security and management of the fair was very good. A record number of security forces were deployed to maintain security. But the book lovers complained that the price of the books was a little bit high. They also told that the death of novelist Humayun Ahmed was a blue for the fair.
